Prepare with confidence
Gaining entry into a cadet program with an airline is highly competitive. Understanding the application and interview process allows you the best possible preparation, putting you ahead of other applicants and increasing your chances of success.
The Future Cadet Pilot Program is a comprehensive course that will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare and submit a high quality application, and then follow it up with confidence throughout the interview stages.
Having core aviation knowledge is a highly desirable trait that airlines will look for in cadet applicants. The FCPP course syllabus features flight training to develop your practical and technical flying skills, advanced airline theory training, and ICAO English training.
The course also includes our highly specialised Airline Interview Coaching Session, led by an airline interview specialist John Sabato. The combination of practical flying skills targeted at airline theory and advanced interview skills is a perfect recipe for successful airline cadet pilot applications.
Schedule a meeting with us to discuss your aviation career goals and how we can help you to get there.
Upon enrolment you will receive a Training Starter Lot which contains all relevant course materials, access to shared online resources, and detailed information on your course process. Your orientation will include an introduction to the airport, airspace, aircraft fleet, LTF processes and policies, and our facilities.
Students can complete their simulation training in Hong Kong, Singapore or Melbourne. Your time in the simulator will help you grasp the techniques needed for each practical flying session, allowing you to put the skills you have learnt into practice when you start your flight training component in a real aircraft. Students will also complete B737 simulation training in Melbourne with Flight Experience, they will get to experience what it's like to command a 60-tonne jet airliner in a Boeing-certified sim.
Flight training will be conducted at Learn to Fly's Melbourne training base at Moorabbin Airport. We have a range of aircraft options available, including Diamond DA40s with glass cockpit avionics and LCD flight instrument displays, similar to the aircraft used in cadet pilot flight training phases. Your exact flight training syllabus will be determined by the package you choose, ranging from basic training all the way through to training area solo flights in preparation for the RPL flight test.
For an even broader and more complete preparation, the advanced theory session will cover a range of content that is not normally covered in standard RPL or PPL ground theory syllabus. This will include topics that are more specifically relevant to airlines and airline pilots, such as Jet Aircraft and Jet Engine Theory.
During our Airline Interview Coaching Session, an Airline Interview Specialist will teach you how to best present your application, and how to best perform during the interview process. You will work through CV and application preparation skills, advanced airline-specific HR questions and response methods, and effective interview presentation techniques. In addition, you will explore the effects of different personality types, leadership qualities, as well as effective problem solving techniques within a group through airline-based scenarios. Your technical aviation knowledge will also be reviewed, specifically based on what your preferred airlines are looking for in their applicants.
ICAO English is specifically designed for the aviation industry. All prospective airline cadet pilots will need to pass and achieve minimum standards in an Aviation English Language Proficiency (AELP) Exam at some stage of the application or training process. Our online training will help you to develop and fine-tune your Aviation English skills and proficiency in preparation for the AELP Exam.
